About the Equitable Homeownership Fund

The Equitable Homeownership Fund (EHF) is a 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to expanding homeownership opportunities for first-time buyers in communities across America. We believe every neighborhood deserves the stability and wealth-building potential that comes with homeownership — and that communities should be the ones to build it.

Through our neighborhood-based donation model, supporters dedicate a piece of a virtual house in their zip code. Each zip code has its own house — styled in the architectural tradition of that region — and every piece donated helps fund real down-payment assistance and pre-purchase support for first-time buyers in that community. When you donate a brick in Montclair, it supports homebuyers in Montclair.

The donation tiers reflect the actual structural elements of building a home: foundation stones, brick walls, windows, doors, and roofing. The cost scales accordingly. The total cost of fully completing one neighborhood house is approximately the cost of EHF’s average down-payment assistance contribution to one first-time buyer in that neighborhood.

Your name, your company, or the person you choose to honor is recorded permanently on your neighborhood’s structure — visible to everyone who donates in your zip code. When enough pieces are claimed, your neighborhood’s house is complete.

The Equitable Homeownership Fund is a registered 501(c)(3). EIN: [INSERT EIN]. All contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. You will receive a written acknowledgment by email within 24 hours of your donation.
